Music Inclusion Instructor/Music Therapist

Join our Faculty at the All Newton Music School as a Music Inclusion Instructor. As our Music Inclusion Program grows, we are seeking a music therapist with a diverse background, skills and experience with all ages and abilities.

This is an opportunity to take on currently enrolled students and build a studio in our community music school setting. Teaching responsibilities may include private lessons as well as group classes and will consist of a spectrum of music therapy to adapted music lessons, depending on the unique needs of the student/group. Faculty are also expected to attend occasional faculty meetings and participate in our yearly music festival, Music in May. Performance opportunities are available to ANMS faculty.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Planning, organizing and leading music inclusion lessons on a variety of instruments for private lesson students and small groups with diverse skills and abilities

  • Demonstrate a professional attitude to all students, prospective students, and caregivers at all times

  • Engage in regular communication with the Music Inclusion Program Coordinator to support the student in accessing all aspects of the Music School’s community

  • Build and maintain rapport with families and caregivers through phone and email communications to support the student


Other Requirements:

Must have a reliable way to commute to and from the All Newton Music School.

Hours, Pay Range and Benefits:

Part Time Fee for Service Employees will work an average of 3-19 hours a week depending on contract work available. Pay will vary based on education and experience.

Seeking Availability:

  • Wednesdays: 3:30 pm - 8:00 pm

  • Thursdays: 3:30 pm - 8:00 pm

  • Fridays: 3:30 pm - 8:00 pm

  • Saturdays: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.

  • Looking for an applicant who can accommodate two or more of these days in this time window.

  • Possible additional extended availability during our school's February vacation week, April vacation week, and the gap week when local summer programs end and public schools begin in August.
